If you suddenly feel lightheaded, unsteady, or as if the room is spinning, it may be more than just tiredness or dehydration. When a stroke affects the areas of the brain that control balance and coordination, dizziness can appear without warning. This may also be accompanied by confusion, blurred vision, or difficulty walking in a straight line. In some cases, it can lead to fainting, which carries the added danger of falls and injury. If dizziness appears out of nowhere, especially with other stroke warning signs, seek medical help immediately.
